Dorian Silva, cello
Born into a family of musicians, Dorian Silva started his music education at the age of five at the piano studying with his mom. By age 7 he was teaching his little brother and his gift for teaching others was already evident. He began his cello studies with Sarah Paul followed by Erin Cassel. During middle and high school, Dorian was a member of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and attended two years of Sewanee Music Festival at The University of the South in Tennessee. It was during this time he decided to pursue his music degree in cello performance at Kennesaw State University with Charae Krueger and earned his BM degree in cello performance. Additionally, he received a Certificate from the prestigious Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business program. He attended various workshops, masterclasses and training over the course of his college years and began teaching cello at Silva Music Studios. Dorian is a partner with his parents at Silva Music Studios and is assisting them with the studio business as well as heading the newly formed strings program. In August of 2020, Dorian joined the Georgia Army National Guard and is proud to serve his country and state.
